Compare the GMC Yukon to the Infiniti QX80 and Cadillac Escalade

Are you in the market for a full-size SUV that accommodates your passenger, cargo, and comfort needs, all wrapped into one robust package? You should consider a test drive in the new GMC Yukon! GMC's full-size SUV offers powerful engine options, convenient comfort inside, and numerous advantages over other models that you won't want to give up once you take the Yukon out for a test drive.

Luxury models like the Infiniti QX80 and Cadillac Escalade may tempt you to add to your drive with luxurious full-size SUVs, offering exciting features and comfort. However, the affordable decision that doesn't lose out on features will always be the GMC Yukon SUV. Below, you'll find a comparison of the Yukon to its Cadillac and Infiniti rivals. We'll detail how the GMC SUV stays a step ahead of its competition, allowing you to get the best value out of your next SUV purchase. Let us know if we can help along the way!

GMC Yukon vs. Infiniti QX80

Under the hood, the Infiniti QX80 keeps life simple with a standard 5.6-liter V8 engine that delivers 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, pairing with a seven-speed automatic transmission for quick and convenient control of your drive. The GMC Yukon equips a 5.3-liter V8 that delivers 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The Yukon doesn't limit you to that one engine option - you can upgrade to a 6.2-liter V8 engine that outputs 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The QX80 can't keep up with that much power. The Yukon can also equip a 3.0-liter Duramax® Turbo Diesel engine that delivers 460 horsepower, beating out the Infiniti's lone engine. The GMC Yukon pairs its engine options with a 10-speed automatic.

Interior space is at a premium when you have three rows of seating. The GMC Yukon makes the ride comfier for you and your passengers, offering 44.5/42.0 and 42.3/38.9-inches of legroom/headroom in the front and second rows, respectively. The Infiniti QX80 will feel a bit more cramped, offering less legroom in either the front or second row, and lacks the headspace offered in the GMC's front row. If you're looking to pack the interior with all of your cargo, you won't want the Infiniti QX80 as your SUV - the lineup only manages 95.1 cubic feet maximum. The GMC Yukon provides up to 122.9 cubic feet - nearly 30 more than its Infiniti competition.

GMC Yukon vs. Cadillac Escalade

While the Yukon and Escalade offer similar power through 6.2-liter V8 engines, the Escalade makes do with only one engine option to the GMC Yukon's three-powertrain lineup. No Cadillac comes equipped with the Duramax® Turbo Diesel available in the Yukon lineup, which delivers 266 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. When properly equipped with the right towing package, the GMC Yukon can tow a maximum of 8,400 pounds - this exceeds the 7,700 pounds offered by the Cadillac's maximum towing capacity.

With the GMC Yukon Denali trim, you'll enjoy top-of-the-line features, including a class-leading power-sliding center console, first-in-class available four-corner air ride adaptive suspension system, and up to 13-available camera views for an easy, stress-free drive. Amenities range from a class-leading 15-inch diagonal head-up display to a 10.2-inch Multicolor 10.2-inch touchscreen - all for an affordable price that usually won't crack $76,000. While the Cadillac Escalade offers many of the same features, adding more luxury and convenience than the Yukon, there will be a significant price jump. The base Cadillac Escalade starts at a higher base price and can increase well into the $100,000 range as you add in more features. For better value, we recommend the GMC Yukon.
